How to prepare for Banking

  1. 1

Build calculation speed first: learn tables up to 30, squares up to 40 and cubes up to 20 to clear the Prelims time crunch.

  2. 2

Reasoning Ability is the scoring section — dedicate time to puzzles, seating arrangement and syllogism which together carry 15-20 marks.

  3. 3

Read The Hindu Business Line or Economic Times daily; Banking Awareness questions are drawn from the last 6 months of financial news.

  4. 4

For Mains Descriptive, write one letter and one essay per week on RBI/banking themes and get them reviewed for structure.

  5. 5

Take one full-length sectional test daily in the last 30 days — sectional cut-offs knock out more candidates than the overall score.
