New IIT & IISc branches in 2026

+791 total seats vs 2025

These programs appear in the JoSAA 2026 seat matrix for the first time, so they have no closing-rank history. They also show up in your results above with a “Newly added 2026” tag and an estimated cutoff. First-year cutoffs for new branches usually close at easier ranks than comparable established branches, which makes them smart additions to your choice list.

How the JEE college predictor works

1. Enter your rank

Use your JEE Advanced rank for IIT branches or your JEE Main rank for NIT, IIIT and GFTI branches. For reserved seat types (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwD) enter your category rank. JoSAA cutoffs for reserved seats are category ranks, not CRL.

2. We project the cutoff

We analyse 10 years of official JoSAA closing ranks (2016–2025) for every branch, with recent years counting more. We adjust for seat changes in the 2026 seat matrix, estimate brand-new branches from similar branches at peer institutes, and shift JEE Main cutoffs outward where new IIT and IISc seats pull top candidates away — category-wise. Every projection carries a confidence range.

3. Build your choice list

Branches are tagged Certain, Likely or Hopium (safe, moderate, ambitious) for your rank and sorted by opening rank. Fill your JoSAA choices with Hopium reaches on top, Likely picks in the middle and Certain picks at the bottom. That way you chase the dream branch first but never go unallotted.

The predictor covers all 23 IITs via JEE Advanced and 100+ NITs, IIITs and GFTIs via JEE Main, covering every seat type (OPEN, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST and PwD pools), gender-neutral and female-only pools, and Home-State / Other-State quotas. Predictions refresh every year when JoSAA publishes new closing ranks.
